What beauty retail buyers actually want to see
Buyers are not evaluating your brand in isolation. They are asking what your product replaces on the shelf and what it adds to category growth.
Lead with the category gap
Show the shelf as it looks today, name the gap and quantify it. A pitch framed around the retailer’s assortment beats one framed around your brand story.
Bring proof of sell-through
Rate of sale from any existing account, e-commerce repeat purchase rate and review volume all reduce perceived risk. Absolute revenue matters far less than velocity per door.
Have the operational answers ready
Lead times, MOQ, EAN codes, shelf-ready packaging, planogram fit, returns policy and marketing support. A brand that cannot answer these looks like work rather than opportunity.
Propose the first 90 days
Sampling, in-store education, launch content and a review point with agreed KPIs. Buyers rebuy from brands that make the launch easy to defend internally.
